With the season over, the Los Angeles Dodgers now turn to creating their National League Division Series roster for the 2026 MLB postseason.

The Los Angeles Dodgers finished off their 2026 season with their 100th win in a three-game sweep over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday.

Now, pending the results of the National League Wild Card Series between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, the Dodgers are trending toward finalizing their National League Division Series roster.

Designated hitters

Per Katie Woo of The Athletic, standout prospect Josue De Paula should get the green light over the likes of Dalton Rushing for a left-handed option off the bench. But this would primarily be a hitter-focused spot on the roster as the Dodgers don't want to use him as a left fielder and would prefer his hitting ability.

Of course, Shohei Ohtani will be the Dodgers' primary designated hitter. Ohtani will be in rotation in the leadoff spot with Mookie Betts depending on the pitching matchups. But Ohtani is still trying to find his rhythm at the plate, slashing .179/.281/.241 in his last 28 at-bats.

Catchers

The Dodgers will carry two catchers, Will Smith and Hunter Feduccia, but Smith will lead the charge behind the plate. Feduccia, who has been a dependable Trade Deadline pickup, will be a all-hands-on-deck situation just in case the Dodgers decide to give Smith a day off between the NLDS.

Pitchers

While there is no definitive 1-2-3 established by Dodgers manager Dave Roberts on the starting pitching front, all signs are pointing towards Yoshinobu Yamamoto toeing the rubber for Game 1, according to Woo.

Following the Dodgers' ace, it could fall to Tarik Skubal taking Game 2 and Blake Snell handling Game 3. Tyler Glasnow could also be a viable option as a number three starter, but his arsenal could transition out of the bullpen.

Speaking of the bullpen, that'll act as the Dodgers' greatest strength purely based on the depth.

Edwin Díaz has since turned the tide after a back-and-forth 2026 campaign, as he's recorded five scoreless innings in five appearances coming off the Injured List. Though Roberts has mentioned that the closer role will not be leaned on by one arm, Díaz can act as the setup man in the later frames for players like Roki Sasaki.

Sasaki is slated to retain his role coming out of the bullpen after a successful stint during last year's 2025 World Series run. The right-hander could be used in the highest-leverage spots, but could share that situation with southpaw Tanner Scott, who recorded 25 saves and struck out 83 hitters in 63.1 innings pitched.

Alex Vesia and Jack Dreyer will provide lefty depth behind Scott, and Evan Phillips, Brock Stewart, and Edgardo Henriquez on the right-handed front.

Henriquez has pitched his way to being the most reliable arm. Mixed with triple-digit marks on the radar gun, his arsenal is the biggest weapon heading into the postseason.

Still, his status is up in the air, as he landed on the IL with a back strain in the middle of September. But he is scheduled to throw a live bullpen session during the Dodgers' bye week to determine his availability.

 Outfielders

The outfield will look more or less the same as it has been throughout the duration of the season, with Andy Pages in center, Kyle Tucker in right, and Teoscar Hernández in left.

Infielders

Just as predictable as the outfield, the infield will look the same as its been. Freddie Freeman at first base, Tommy Edman manning second base, Mookie Betts at shortstop, Max Muncy at third base, and both Kiké Hernández and Miguel Rojas ready off the bench.

A surprise that could come out of the roster is Hyeseong Kim landing a spot, but more of a pinch-runner role, per Woo. The Dodgers can pivot towards Kim and use his fresh legs on the bases if they need some speed.
