The Los Angeles Dodgers put together one of their most productive offensive performances of the spring in a 9–5 Cactus League win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Several hitters contributed to the scoring outburst, but outfielder Andy Pages continued his impressive spring. Pages finished the game 2-for-3, pushing his batting average to an eye-catching .414 while maintaining a 1.109 OPS in exhibition play.
The young outfielder has been one of the club’s most consistent bats during camp and continues to strengthen his case as the team evaluates its depth options.
Power also played a major role in the Dodgers’ offensive production. Veteran infielder Max Muncy launched a home run as part of a 1-for-3 day, driving in two runs.
Meanwhile, Teoscar Hernández delivered one of the biggest swings of the afternoon, going 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs. The pair provided the bulk of the run production as Los Angeles built enough cushion to secure the victory.
The Dodgers have emphasized building rhythm at the plate during Spring Training, and games like this reflect the lineup’s growing comfort as Opening Day approaches.
Left-hander Cole Irvin got the start for Los Angeles and logged two innings of work. He allowed two hits and one earned run while striking out one hitter.
Irvin also issued four walks during his outing, something the Dodgers will likely look to clean up moving forward.
While he is not currently projected to play a central role in the team’s starting rotation, the veteran arm provides valuable organizational depth and experience.
Having reliable pitching options available in the upper levels of the system can prove crucial over the course of a long season, particularly when injuries or heavy workloads create opportunities.
Several relievers delivered strong outings out of the bullpen. Left-hander Alex Vesia recorded a strikeout against the lone batter he faced, continuing to show the type of late-inning effectiveness the Dodgers value in high-leverage spots.
Right-hander Kyle Hurt also turned in an impressive performance, striking out all three hitters he faced in a clean inning of work.
Hurt is widely viewed as a potential depth option for the bullpen and could see opportunities during the season if the club needs reinforcements.
One reliever who ran into trouble was Tanner Scott, who allowed two runs in his appearance, though both were ruled unearned.
Despite the hiccup, Scott remains a key piece of the Dodgers’ bullpen plans and is expected to play an important role this season.
Overall, the combination of offensive firepower and steady bullpen work helped the Dodgers secure another solid result during Cactus League play.
