The San Francisco Giants continued their productive Spring Training stretch with a convincing 12-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, highlighted by timely hitting and strong individual performances across the lineup.
The matchup featured Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who made his final spring appearance before departing to join Japan for the World Baseball Classic.
Yamamoto worked through three innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out four. He also surrendered a home run as the Giants capitalized early.
San Francisco struck first in the opening inning when shortstop Willy Adames drove a curveball out of the park, giving the Giants a quick 1-0 advantage.
The early swing set the tone for a steady offensive performance that built momentum throughout the game.
The biggest offensive showing came from outfielder Victor Bericoto, who finished 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs.
Bericoto’s fifth-inning grand slam extended the Giants’ lead and showcased his power potential as he continues to push for attention during camp.
On the mound, Robbie Ray made the start for San Francisco. His outing came after an unusual previous appearance at Scottsdale Stadium, when a fire alarm briefly disrupted play against the Chicago Cubs.
This time, Ray delivered a calmer and more controlled performance, showing improved command and rhythm.
Pitching two innings, allowing one hit, one earned run, one walk, while striking out one batter.
The Giants also received contributions from several hitters throughout the lineup. Patrick Bailey recorded two hits and an RBI while serving as the designated hitter.
Heliot Ramos went 2-for-2 with a double, and Daniel Susac finished 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in a strong showing behind the plate.
Susac’s continued offensive production is notable as he competes for a potential backup catching role.
Veteran Eric Haase later entered the game, but Susac’s early start suggests the organization is giving him extended opportunities to solidify his case.
There were also a couple of injury-related updates. Rafael Devers was scratched from the lineup due to left hamstring tightness, while Harrison Bader exited the game after suffering a right thumb contusion while running out a play at first base.
With the strong offensive showing, San Francisco maintained control throughout the game and secured the 12-4 win.
The Giants are scheduled to return to action Saturday afternoon against the Athletics as Spring Training competition continues to shape roster decisions.
