As Spring Training wrapped up, the San Francisco Giants decided to send top prospect Bryce Eldridge to Triple-A Sacramento with a clear developmental focus -- refining his defense while continuing to grow offensively.

Early returns suggest that while the glove remains a work in progress, the bat is already more than big-league ready. Eldridge delivered the most complete performance of his young Triple-A stint on Friday, going 4-for-5 and extending his streak to three consecutive multi-hit games.

His offensive surge helped power the Sacramento River Cats to a dominant 11-0 victory over Las Vegas, further reinforcing the momentum he has built to begin the 2026 campaign.

Long regarded for his elite raw power, Eldridge’s profile has never been in question at the plate. Since being selected in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft, he has climbed the minor league ladder rapidly, producing at every level.

That ascent included a breakout 2024 season in which he showcased both power and improving contact skills, followed by a productive stretch in Double-A and Triple-A in 2025, where he combined for consistent extra-base production.

His first taste of the majors late last season, however, proved challenging. In a brief 10-game sample, Eldridge struggled to adjust, collecting just a handful of hits while striking out frequently. Despite that introduction, the organization has remained confident in his long-term upside, emphasizing patience as he continues to develop.

That patience is already showing signs of paying off. Through the first couple of weeks of the Triple-A season, Eldridge owns an OPS north of 1.000, a reflection of both his power and improved approach.

Earlier in the week, he launched his first home run of the season in emphatic fashion, driving the ball beyond the right-field bullpen and showcasing the kind of impact power that has made him one of baseball’s most intriguing prospects.

At the major-league level, the Giants’ offense has struggled to find consistency, particularly in the power department. That contrast only sharpens the spotlight on Eldridge’s production in Sacramento and raises questions about how long he will remain in the minors.

While there is still refinement needed in his overall game, Eldridge’s current form underscores his potential to be a difference-maker. If his offensive dominance continues, then it may not be long before the Giants are forced to consider giving their top prospect another opportunity at the big-league level.
