San Francisco Giants prospect Jhonny Level is tearing through Low-A pitching in the California League.
One of the fastest-rising bats in the San Francisco Giants’ farm system is making noise in a big way, and it’s coming from 19-year-old infielder Jhonny Level.
The switch-hitting prospect has opened the 2026 season on a tear with Low-A San Jose, quickly establishing himself as one of the most productive hitters across the Minor Leagues.
Through his first handful of games, Level has piled up extra-base hits, multi-hit performances, and impactful offensive production that have separated him from much of the competition.
His early stretch has been highlighted by a standout performance in which he recorded three hits, including a home run and multiple doubles, to help power San Jose to a convincing win.
That outing is part of a broader trend as Level has consistently delivered at the plate, notching multiple hits in nearly every game to begin the year.
What makes this surge particularly impressive is how quickly the power has arrived. After hitting just three home runs over 31 games at the same level late last season, Level needed only a few games to match a significant portion of that output in 2026.
His ability to generate extra-base damage has translated into one of the highest total-base marks among Minor Leaguers early on. That's despite playing at a lower level than Triple-A hitters who began their seasons earlier.
Beyond the raw numbers, Level’s profile continues to intrigue evaluators. Signed out of Venezuela in 2024, he has steadily climbed prospect rankings thanks to a polished offensive approach and well-rounded skill set.
Though undersized compared to traditional power hitters, Level has shown the ability to drive the ball with authority from both sides of the plate. Scouts project him to grow into a meaningful power hitter as he matures, potentially developing into a 20-home run threat at the professional level.
Defensively, his athleticism only adds to the appeal. With a strong arm and smooth actions, Level has the versatility to stick on the infield dirt, whether at shortstop or another position, while also possessing the tools to shift around the diamond if needed.
In a deep Giants farm system filled with highly regarded talent, Level may not always grab the loudest headlines. But his performance is becoming impossible to ignore. If this torrid start is any indication, he could soon force his way into a much larger spotlight as one of the organization’s most exciting young players.
