The San Francisco Giants officially added first-round pick Jackson Flora to the organization.

The San Francisco Giants have reached an agreement with first-round selection Jackson Flora, bringing the No. 4 overall pick into the organization less than a week after the 2026 MLB Draft.

While the club has not formally announced the signing, MLB Pipeline's Jim Callis reported Saturday that Flora agreed to a signing bonus of $7,997,500.

The agreement comes in below the assigned slot value of $8,988,400 for the fourth overall selection, allowing San Francisco to preserve additional bonus pool money as it works through negotiations with the remainder of its 2026 draft class before the July 27 signing deadline.

Savings could help complete the Giants' draft class

By signing Flora for nearly $1 million under slot, the Giants gain greater financial flexibility to pursue agreements with other unsigned selections.

Particularly with high school right-handers Carson Bolemon, the club's Competitive Balance Round A selection at No. 29 overall, and Kaden Waechter, who was chosen with the 55th overall pick.

Teams frequently use under-slot agreements with early selections to redistribute bonus pool money throughout the draft, particularly when attempting to sign prep prospects who may require larger bonuses to forgo college commitments.

Flora arrives after dominant collegiate season

Flora enters professional baseball after establishing himself as one of the most accomplished pitchers in the country during his final collegiate season at UC Santa Barbara.

The 21-year-old right-hander dominated opposing hitters, finishing 12-0 with a 1.06 ERA while setting a school record with 133 strikeouts over 102 innings in 16 starts.

His combination of size, durability, and production made him one of the safest college arms available in the draft, and the Giants viewed him as a pitcher capable of moving quickly through the minor leagues.

Adding Flora also strengthens an organization that has consistently prioritized pitching development, giving San Francisco another highly regarded arm to build around for the future.

A hometown dream becomes reality

Flora's selection carried additional meaning beyond his talent. A Pleasanton native, he attended Foothill High School, the same alma mater as former Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford, and grew up rooting for the franchise.

That hometown connection made being drafted by San Francisco especially meaningful, giving Flora the opportunity to begin his professional career with the organization he supported growing up.

With their top selection now under contract, the Giants can turn their attention toward completing agreements with the rest of their draft class before the signing deadline later this month.
