Dakota Jordan enters the Arizona Fall League after producing 19 home runs and 21 stolen bases in 2026.
The Arizona Fall League has become one of baseball’s most important developmental opportunities, giving some of the sport’s top prospects a chance to compete against advanced competition after the regular season.
For the San Francisco Giants, Dakota Jordan will be one of the most intriguing players to watch.
Jordan, ranked No. 7 in the Giants’ farm system, enters the Fall League following a productive 2026 season in which he showed the combination of power and speed that has made him one of the organization’s notable young outfielders.
The 2024 fourth-round pick spent the season moving between High-A and Double-A, appearing in 102 games overall. He finished the year with a .283/.343/.500 slash line while hitting 19 home runs and stealing 21 bases.
That combination makes Jordan an especially interesting player heading into the AFL.
Power has always been a major part of Jordan’s profile. The Giants signed him for $1,997,500 after selecting him in the fourth round of the 2024 MLB Draft, giving him a bonus well above the slot value associated with the selection.
His athleticism also separates him from many prospects.
Jordan was a highly regarded three-star wide receiver recruit coming out of high school and originally planned to play both baseball and football at Mississippi State. He ultimately remained focused on baseball, where his physical ability has translated into one of the more intriguing tool sets in the Giants’ system.
The AFL will give Jordan another opportunity to continue developing those tools against some of the best young players in the game.
The league has historically provided a proving ground for prospects on the verge of reaching the majors. Since its inaugural season in 1992, the circuit has featured thousands of players who eventually reached the big leagues, including future Hall of Famers such as Mike Piazza, Roy Halladay, Todd Helton, and Derek Jeter.
Jordan now gets his opportunity to be part of that history.
The Giants will send a group of prospects to Arizona, but Jordan stands out because of the potential impact his athleticism and power can provide. After spending 2026 gaining experience across two levels, the Fall League represents another chance for him to refine his game and build momentum heading into next season.
For the Giants, Jordan’s performance in Arizona will be another important checkpoint in his development. His 2026 production already demonstrated his ability to impact the game in multiple ways. The next step will be showing that those tools can continue to translate against the elevated level of competition found in the Fall League.
