The San Francisco Giants have officially agreed to terms with outfielder Will Brennan on a one-year major-league contract for the 2026 season.
Brennan, who spent the early portion of his career with the Cleveland Guardians organization, became a free agent when Cleveland chose not to tender him a contract last November.
While his time with the Guardians included both big-league action and injury setbacks, including an offseason procedure to address a groin issue and a previous Tommy John surgery, he brings major-league experience and a lefty bat to the Giants’ roster.
To make space for Brennan on San Francisco’s 40-man roster, the club placed right-handed reliever Rowan Wick on the 60-day Injured List.
Wick, who recently signed a major-league deal of his own with the Giants, is expected to miss the 2026 season as he continues to recover from Tommy John surgery. His trip to the Injured List clears the necessary roster spot.
San Francisco’s front office has been active this offseason, aiming to reshape the roster after missing the postseason in recent years. Earlier in the winter, the Giants added notable talent in both the lineup and the pitching staff.
For Brennan, this new opportunity represents a chance to compete for playing time at the highest level after navigating injuries and limited opportunities during the 2025 campaign.
Managers and the front office will look to leverage his defensive versatility and switch-hitting bat as they outline roles heading into spring training. The terms of Brennan’s contract, including salary and any performance incentives, were not immediately disclosed.
More updates on roster moves and how Brennan fits into the Giants’ plans are expected as the team progresses toward the start of the regular season.
