The San Francisco Giants have some exciting prospects heading to the Futures Game.
With the 2026 MLB All-Star Futures Game set to take place on July 12, the San Francisco Giants will have two of their top prospects representing the franchise among the high-level talent participating across the board.
Shortstop/second baseman Gavin Kilen, the No. 4 prospect in the Giants’ system, will be one of the participants, and outfielder Dakota Jordan, the organization’s No. 5 prospect, will be the other.
Kilen played college baseball for one season at Tennessee under current Giants manager Tony Vitello and was selected with the 13th pick of the 2025 MLB Draft. Kilen’s selection came mere months before Vitello was hired by the Giants, which reunited the two within the organization.
Kilen's lone season at Tennessee came in 2025 after he spent 2023 and 2024 playing for Louisville. During the season, Kilen provided a strong offensive presence by leading the team with a .357 batting average and four triples over 52 starts.
In 10 games with Single-A San Jose in 2025, Kilen notched eight hits in 39 at-bats. He also had five RBIs while getting his feet wet in a new minor-league setting. This season, Kilen has played in 71 games for High-A Eugene and has logged a .290 batting average with an .827 OPS.
Across his 71 appearances in 2026, Kilen has also hit eight home runs and contributed 61 RBIs. Scouts praise Kilen’s bat-to-ball skills due to attributes like strong hand-eye coordination and a fast left-handed stroke. He is having a strong season, and it will be interesting to see what he does during baseball’s best prospect showcase.
Meanwhile, Jordan came to the organization as the 116th pick in the fourth round of the 2024 Draft out of Mississippi State, and after he spent part of the 2024 season and all of the 2025 season with Single-A San Jose, Jordan made his way to High-A Eugene alongside Kilen.
In 73 games with Eugene, Jordan has logged a .274 batting average, a .334 on-base percentage and a .479 slugging percentage with an .813 OPS. Moreover, Jordan has a team-high 13 home runs, and he is second in RBIs (56) only behind Kilen.
A former three-star wide receiver, Jordan is lauded for his athleticism. Scouts also praise his quick swing and raw power that make him a threat at the plate, which contributed to his California League-leading 14 home runs in 2025 and nearly earned him the Triple Crown.
Overall, Kilen and Jordan should be exciting names to keep an eye on in the Futures Game.
