Aaron Boone gets ejected after a confusing play that saw the Cleveland Guardians take an early lead over the New York Yankees.
Mass confusion erupted in the first inning of the Cleveland Guardians-New York Yankees series finale which ended in fireworks on the visitor's side.
Josh Naylor hit a ball to center field and Aaron Hicks appeared to catch it as he was sliding to the ground. Hicks threw the ball into second base and doubled up Jose Ramirez to end the inning.
However, upon replay the ball clearly came out of Hicks' glove which meant Steven Kwan should score, Ramirez should be at third, and Naylor at first base.

The umpires talked for a few minutes among themselves and then explained what was going to happen to both Terry Francona and Aaron Boone. The league ended up confirming that Cleveland did in fact challenge the catch/no catch which lead to it being overturned.
Boone was clearly not happy with the explanation given by the umpires, argued and shouted at them, and was then ejected from the game.
Even after being tossed, Boone stayed on the field pleading his case that the runner should've been out despite the call being overturned and video replay clearly showing the ball was out of the glove.
The Yankees' manager finally left the field but wasn't satisfied with how everything played out.
We'll have to wait and see what Boone says postgame on his perspective on how everything played out.
