Francisco Lindor says that the Cleveland organization means a lot to him ahead of their first showdown since the blockbuster trade that made him a New York Met.
The mid-2010s had many winning and playoff runs for the then-Cleveland Indians. Spearheading the team's success was superstar shortstop Francisco Lindor who established himself as one of the best MLB players during his time in Cleveland.
However, all good things must come to an end the organization traded him away to the New York Mets after the shortened 2020 season. Two of the most notable players Cleveland got in return were Amed Rosario and Andres Gimenez.
The MLB schedule is an unconventional one and this weekend is the first time that Lindor will face his old club. This is what the former Cleveland shortstop said leading up to the highly anticipated showdown.
Lindor later went on to say that he wishes that there were fans in the stands for his final season and that it was weird without them there.
Mr. Smile saying how appreciative he is for his time in Cleveland is a nice touch. He became a fan favorite during the six seasons in town.
