The Cleveland Guardians are going into the All-Star Break on a four-game winning streak.
Right now, the Cleveland Guardians are 51-46 and are tied for first place in the American League Central.
However, that record doesn’t show the adversity the team has already faced this season, losing their superstar third baseman, Jose Ramirez, to a hand injury that required surgery. Since the injury to Ramirez, Cleveland has an under .500 record and
Finally, the Guardians are getting some much-needed rest with the All-Star break starting on Monday. Even better news is that Cleveland went into the planned hiatus on a high note, and it can build on that on the other side of the break.
The Guardians’ final series before the break came against the Miami Marlins, who actually have the best record in baseball since the start of June, at 26-11.
Cleveland traveled to their home park in South Beach and swept their National League foe in three games.
What made this series win even more impressive was that the Guardians saw both of Miami’s top two pitchers in the first two games. Cleveland tagged Sandy Alcantara for three earned runs, and Eury Perez didn’t fare much better, allowing two earned runs.
The Guardians’ bats really showed up when they were needed the most.
Chase DeLauter hit two home runs in the series; Brayan Rocchio was five-for-14 with a home run against the Marlins; Patrick Bailey came up with a big RBI double in the second game of the series; and Steven Kwan is showing signs of being back to himself.

“I couldn't be more proud of the way we finished this first half. What a great road trip this was, especially with the way it started. Now we're gonna get four much-needed days,” said manager Stephen Vogt after Sunday’s win.
It’s been a bumpy road without Jose Ramirez; no one is going to deny that. However, the Guardians are building momentum, with a four-game win streak heading into the break and a homestand awaiting them on the other side.
All things considered, the Guardians should be content with where they’re at, knowing there’s still work to be done.
