The Cleveland Guardians are getting ready to take on the Tampa Bay Rays for Game 4 of the ALCS.
The Cleveland Guardians looked dead in the water not too long ago, going down 0-2 in the American League Division Series against the Chicago White Sox.
But a three-game rally from Cleveland saw them overcome the odds to take down Chicago, advancing to the ALCS to face off against the top-seeded Tampa Bay Rays. Now, with Game 4 of the ALCS about to get started, the Guardians hold a 2-1 series lead over Tampa Bay.
Game 4 will again be played in Cleveland, giving the Guardians a chance to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Rays in front of their fans. This Guardians team has shown a lot of grit over the last week-plus, never quitting no matter the circumstances in front of them.
Entering Game 4, Cleveland has now won five of six games, with the team rolling on the field. Both the offense and pitching have come together, making this Guardians squad look very dangerous.
Taking the mound to start today for the Guardians will be veteran right-hander Shawn Armstrong. Armstrong will be used as an opener for the game, with Cleveland using its entire game plan in this series.
During the regular season, Armstrong posted a 4.58 ERA over 41 appearances, striking out 34 batters over 35.1 innings of work. The veteran will now be tasked with helping Cleveland take a 3-1 series lead, setting the tone early on in the game.
Going opposite of Armstrong will be Rays right-hander Nick Martinez, who recorded a 3.10 ERA over 31 starts during the regular season. Cleveland will attempt to get to Martinez early, forcing Tampa Bay to use its bullpen.
Guardians Reveal Game 4 Lineup vs Rays
Ahead of the game starting, the Guardians have revealed the lineup for Game 4 of the series. Manager Stephen Vogt put this order together, believing that this group can get the job done.
Here is how the lineup is set for Cleveland entering Game 4:

Hitting third is Chase DeLauter, playing in right field. Batting fourth is Jo Adell, playing as the designated hitter for the game.
Nathaniel Lowe will hit fifth, taking on duties at first base. Travis Bazzana will be sixth, playing at second.
Behind the plate will be Patrick Bailey, hitting seventh for the team. Petey Halpin will play in center field, batting eighth today, following his massive home run in Game 3.
