Jose Ramirez has come up with multiple big hits for the Cleveland Guardians over the last week.
If there’s one thing that Jose Ramirez has been known for throughout his career, it’s how consistent he has been as the Cleveland Guardians star. Year in and year out, Ramirez is an MVP candidate in the American League.
Unfortunately, the 2026 season has been a different story for Ramirez.
The superstar’s stats are nowhere near on par with his typical career numbers. There could be several reasons for this, but one of the primary ones has to do with the hamstring injury Ramirez suffered in the middle of June.
Even though Ramirez only missed a little over a month with the injury, he still hasn’t looked like the same hitter. Even though it’s normal for a player returning from this injury to take time to regain their power, it’s still been weird to see Ramirez struggle so much at the plate.
Even though the season numbers aren’t there for Ramirez, what the Guardians can fall back on is his stats over the last few weeks.
It really looks like Ramirez has turned a corner and is regaining his form just in time for the final playoff push.
Ramirez has logged six hits in his last seven games, including a pair of doubles in the rubber match against the Chicago White Sox and a solo blast against the Athletics, which gave him his 1,000th career RBI.

"Working on it everyday," said Ramirez through his interpreter Auggie Rivero.
"I have to keep working on the training room every day because this is the type of injury, one day you feel good, the next one doesn't feels so well... The last couple days I feel better, but we know this type of injury can just vary every day."
Manager Stephen Vogt acknowledged after Friday’s win that Ramirez hasn’t felt like the same player since coming back from injury, but has still made an impact on this team by leading by example in the locker room.
“As he was coming back, and we had to give him off days. He was not happy about it,” Vogt said.
“He wants to play every day. He wants to give us everything that he has on any given day, and we know there are days when he is not feeling well, and he still goes out and gives 100 percent of what he has that day. It’s just such a great example for young guys to see that just because you’re not feeling 100 percent doesn’t mean you can’t go out and contribute to help the team win."
Cleveland’s offense has been hot and cold at times this season, but if the Guardians are truly getting vintage Ramirez back for a potential playoff run, this could become one of the more dangerous teams in baseball come October.
