The Cleveland Guardians made a series of roster moves ahead of their series finale against the Minnesota Twins.

Tim Herrin Placed on the Injured List, Codi Heuer Recalled From Triple-A
A scary moment unfolded on Wednesday night as Tim Herrin was hit directly on his throwing arm by a comeback from Royce Lewis.
Herrin immediately left the game and was clearly in a lot of pain. The good news is that there isn’t a fracture, and the team is calling it an “elbow contusion.”
Considering the injury occurred to his throwing arm, it could take some time for him to return to the mound, and the Guardians acted accordingly by placing him on the 15-day injured list.
Taking Herrin’s spot in the bullpen is Codi Heuer, as the Guardians recalled the right-hander from Triple-A on Thursday.
Heuer has appeared in a handful of games with Cleveland’s big-league team so far during 2026. In seven MLB appearances this season, the 30-year-old has a 5.63 ERA, a 1.88 WHIP, and a 27.4 percent whiff rate.
Heuer also has the ability to throw multiple innings, which Cleveland could need after using all but one arm in Wednesday’s loss.

The Guardians also announced on Thursday that they had optioned Cooper Ingle to Triple-A.
Cleveland’s No. 3 prospect got his first taste of the big leagues, but it’s clear he still has some areas to work on, both at the plate and in the field.
Ingle went 2-for-21 (.095 AVG) over his first two weeks and carried a 50 percent strikeout rate in those at-bats. He showed he can hit the ball hard, but still needs to work on making better, more consistent contact.
When the Guardians called up Ingle, the plan was for him to play left field on defense.
That experiment didn’t work out well, as the 24-year-old committed three errors in 32,0 innings, including throwing a ball into the stands with only two outs, allowing a run to score.
At some point, Ingle should be back up with the Major League team, but he definitely has some areas of his game to iron out first.
Taking Ingle’s spot on the roster is Petey Halpin who was recalled on Thursday.
