The Cleveland Guardians have a tall task in front of them entering Game 6.
The Cleveland Guardians are preparing for a crucial Game 6 showdown against the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Championship Series.
Entering Game 6, the Guardians find themselves down 3-2 in the series, facing elimination against Tampa Bay. For Cleveland to advance, the team is going to have to win both games on the road, giving them a big challenge ahead.
But the Guardians are 3-0 in elimination games this postseason, showing poise and grit when their backs have been against the wall. Cleveland was able to rattle off three straight wins to avoid being eliminated in the ALDS against the Chicago White Sox, showing strong mental fortitude as a team.
Tampa Bay is a much tougher opponent than the White Sox, but the Guardians remain confident heading into the win-or-go-home Game 6. Cleveland believes that they can matchup against anyone in baseball, and until the final out has been recorded, this team will keep fighting.
The Guardians will be sending out right-hander Shawn Armstrong to open the game, giving themselves a chance to set the tone early on. Armstrong has been electric for the team this postseason, throwing 7.2 scoreless innings so far.
Against the Rays, Armstrong has thrown four scoreless innings, giving the Guardians real belief in the veteran pitcher. If Armstrong can put together another solid outing to kick off the game, it could help Cleveland set themselves up to force a Game 7.
First pitch for Game 6 between the Guardians and Rays is scheduled for 5:08 p.m. PT/8:08 p.m. ET from Tropicana Field.
Guardians Reveal Game 6 Lineup vs Rays

Chase DeLauter will take right field for Cleveland, hitting third today. Jo Adell will again be the designated hitter, batting fourth.

Patrick Bailey will be behind the plate, hitting seventh for the team. Petey Halpin will continue starting, playing in center field and hitting eighth.
And closing it out for the Guardians will be Brayan Rocchio, playing at shortstop.
