This is what Travis Bazzana had to say after finally getting his first MLB hit with the Cleveland Guardians.

Travis Bazzana waited a long time to reach the big-league level, and that moment finally came last Tuesday as he made his first start with the Cleveland Guardians.

It took the 23-year-old a little bit longer to finally get his first MLB hit, too. Through Bazzana's first four games, he generated a few walks and was hitting the ball hard, but didn't have anything to show for it.

Then, on Saturday, with the bases loaded, Bazzana came through, hitting a ground ball right up the middle between second base and shortstop, officially giving the No. 1 prospect his first big-league knock.

Even though it may have taken a little bit longer than he would've liked, Bazzana has been putting together some solid at-bats, and that's what he's been focused on. Finally seeing one get through, "gives me extra confidence."

"I just think that if I know I'm in a good place with my like process, my at bats, I'm swinging at good pitches on time. Those things, like just controlling the controllables. If I can do that for a long period of time, I'm gonna have good success. So just trying to do that and keep doing that. So it's a good thing," explained Bazzana after the game.

Even though Bazzana got his first hit five games after making his debut, that doesn't mean he's been struggling at the plate. If anything, this hit has been long overdue.

Bazzana's at-bats have been phenomenal, already generating five walks (27.8 percent), and he's been hitting the ball hard, too, coming out with an average exit velocity of 94.7 mph.

This approach is even something Stephen Vogt has noticed over Bazzana's first week in the Majors.

"Travis has been having great at bats," said Cleveland's skipper.

"And you know, worked another walk. But just to get that first one, to see it go through the infield in a huge spot for us too to extend the lead. Great at bat, right there. Battle, battle, battle. Really good for him to get off with his first one."

Bazzana is destined for many more hits in big moments throughout his career, but he'll never forget this one that came in Sacramento on Saturday.
