Cleveland Guardians' Travis Bazzana says his first All-Star experience was an "unforgettable time."
Most of the Cleveland Guardians' roster spent the last four days resetting and regrouping before the final two months of the regular season.
Travis Bazzana was not one of those players. Just a few weeks after making his MLB debut, the rookie second baseman went out to Philadelphia as a member of the American League All-Star team.
As Bazzana returned to the team and prepared to start the second half of the season, the 23-year-old reflected on his first All-Star experience.
Bazzana called it an "Amazing. Pretty unforgettable time."
"So many amazing people to be around. A lot of cool items received from like getting, team signed balls and jerseys and stuff which will be cherished, you know. I mean, just being on the field for the home run derby and obviously being a part of the game just really cool."

He subbed into the game in the bottom of the sixth inning for former Cleveland second baseman Ernie Clement, and he ended up getting his first at-bat in the top of the seventh inning.
Bazzana said as he walked up to the batter's box, "It was like a lot of adrenaline, a lot of, you know, some nerves, some just like excitement, but just try to take it all in and it was great."
"I mean, it was a packed house in Philly. Obviously, sharing the field with some of the greatest players in our game."
There are plenty of players who spend years playing in the big-leagues, but never get named All-Stars. With that in mind, it's that much more impressive the Bazzana accomplished this feat in his rookie season.
Even though it's an impressive accomplishment, Bazzana knows being an All-Star doesn't mean he's finished his development as a player.
"I feel like it's kind of like a push forward to this second half," Bazzana explained.
"Yeah, I mean just like continue to get better and tried to learn something from the guys I was around. It's like a it's like a positive push forward, I guess."
Bazzana has already been one of the most impressive rookies in MLB this season, and the fact that he was named an All-Star by his peers is even more validation of the potential he has.
As he alluded to, being around the game's top players and seeing how they operate not just on the field, but off it, can do so much for Bazzana and help him get back to Midsummer Classic more times during his career.
