Spring Training is just as much about the big-league roster getting ready for the regular season as it is about getting a glimpse at the next wave of players.
Here are three of the Cleveland Guardians' prospects who are raising their overall stock based on how they’ve been playing in spring training so far.
There isn’t a player in the Guardians organization, and maybe across MLB. That’s having a better spring training than Ralphy Velazquez. He ended the 2025 Minor League season on a tear and is picking up right where he left off during Cactus League play.
Velázquez has played in 10 games so far this season, and owns a .500 batting average (5-for-10), including two doubles. He has also struck out only once, showing how locked in Velázquez is at the plate right now.
The 20-year-old started flying up top 100 prospect lists over the winter after his strong end to 2025, and now, with an impressive spring training so far, Velázquez is only raising his ceiling as a player.
Another Guardians prospect who is having a terrific camp is Kahlil Watson.
The outfielder has a legitimate chance of making it to the big leagues at some point in 2026, and he may be moving up his timeline with how he’s playing this spring.
Watson has already hit two doubles and a triple this spring, comping out to an OPS of 1.636 in 10 at-bats.
The Guardians need more offense from the outfielders, and with Watson continuing to swing the bat well, and likely starting the season at Triple-A, he's proving he could be an option later in the season.

Tolentio has showcased some power already this spring, including a 418-foot three-run homer on Sunday. He’s also flashed some leather at shortstop, too. Tolentino made an incredible diving play in the team’s Cactus League opener.
Tolentino’s stock likely hasn’t risen enough to make him a candidate for an automatch debut in 2026, but he’s certainly giving the Guardians something to think about.
