The 30 starting pitchers for Opening Day next Thursday have all been announced and there are a lot of high-profile matchups, as you would expect to start the season. Here are all the matchups in the 15 games.
We're now just a week away from the start of the 2023 Major League Baseball season, and all 30 teams rolled out their starting pitchers for Opening Day on Thursday.
There are plenty of great matchups, too, which isn't surprising.
Eight former Cy Young Award winners will take the mound, with the best matchup coming in Miami when 2022 National League winner Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins and Max Scherzer of the New York Mets, who's won three Cy Young awards, will square off.
The best American League matchup comes in Houston, where the defending World Series champs will roll out left-hander Framber Valdez against right-hander Dylan Cease of the Chicago White Sox.
Here are the starters for the 15 Opening Day games, with last year's stats in parentheses:
American League
