Julio Rodriguez left Wednesday's game with an apparent injury, but he made history while he was playing.
Seattle Mariners star Julio Rodriguez left Wednesday's 5-3 loss against the Baltimore Orioles with an apparent hamstring injury, and for a team already dealing with a ton of notable injuries, that's about the last thing that the M's can afford.
However, as the organization figures out the next move with Rodriguez, it's notable that Rodriguez did join an impressive list in baseball history with a double he had in that Wednesday contest.
As noted by Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Rodriguez is now the third-fastest player in history to 125 doubles, 125 homers and 125 stolen bases. It's taken him 665 games, which is behind only Alfonso Soriano (643) and Ronald Acuna Jr. (591).
Rodriguez, 25, is one of the most accomplished players in the league over the last five years. He's already a three-time All-Star and has two Top-6 MVP finishes under his belt. He's hitting .249 this season with 13 homers and 35 RBIs while also stealing nine bases. He's carrying an OPS+ of 109, which is slightly above average, but this also represents, arguably, his best first two month-stretch of any season for him.
A cornerstone player of the Mariners franchise, the Mariners can ill-afford to have him miss time with injury. As a result, you can assure they'll be cautious with his playing time until they are positive he's 100 percent.
The M's are already missing Randy Arozarena (IL) and Matt Brash (IL), while they've also had Josh Naylor and Luke Raley unavailable for the last two days because of nagging issues. JP Crawford and Cal Raleigh just returned from the injured list.

The Mariners (38-37) will take on the Orioles again in game three of the three-game set on Thursday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. PT. Bryan Woo will take the mound for the Mariners while Shane Baz pitches for the O's.
Woo lost against the Orioles last Thursday.
After that series, the Mariners will host the reeling Boston Red Sox at T-Mobile Park for a weekend affair. Seattle will go with the piggyback tandem of Bryce Miller and Luis Castillo on Friday night.
