The Mariners announced their non-roster invitees for spring training, which features several interesting names.

Pitchers and catchers are now just days away from reporting to their teams' respective spring training facilities in Arizona and Florida.

Seattle Mariners players will report to the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Ariz., with the most expectations in the last two decades of the franchise.

The Mariners also have one of the best farm systems in the sport and they'll likely see some kind of impact from several of their best prospects in 2026.

Seattle announced its list of non-roster invitees for the upcoming spring training and every top 100 prospect (per MLB Pipeline) is among the players getting invites.

Here's a breakdown of the list of non-roster players being invited to spring training:

Right-handed pitchers: Charlie Beilenson; Jurrangelo Cijntje (No. 91 MLB Pipeline top 100); Tyler Cleveland; Nick Davila; Randy Dobnak; Dane Dunning; Casey Lawrence; Teddy McGraw; Michael Morales; Gabe Mosser; Michael Rucker; Ryan Sloan (No. 33); Guillo Zuniga.

Left-handed pitchers: Kade Anderson (No. 21); Austin Kitchen.

Infielders: Michael Arroyo (No. 67); Colt Emerson (No. 9); Blake Rambusch; Brock Rodden; Carson Taylor; Will Wilson; Patrick Wisdom.

Outfielders: Brennen Davis; Jonny Farmelo (No. 78); Victor Labrada; Lazaro Montes (No. 43); Spencer Packard; Jared Sundstrom.

Catchers: Josh Caron; Connor Charping; Brian O'Keefe; Nick Raposo; Jackson Reetz; Luke Stevenson.

Here are some takeaways from the Mariners' list of non-roster invitees:

No more switch-pitching for Cijntje?

Seattle's 2024 first-round MLB draft pick, switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijtnje, has been one of the most notable prospects in baseball due to him being ambidextrous. He posted a solid season his first year of pro ball last year.

Cijntje posted a 3.99 and struck out 120 batters in 108.1 innings pitched across 26 appearances (23 starts) in High-A and Double-A.

Even with his solid season, Cijntje was clearly more developed right-handed than left-handed. He touches the upper 90-mph range with his fastball from the right side and the mid-nineties with his heater from the left.

Cijntje being listed as right-handed pitcher could be an indication that the Mariners intend to drop the switch-pitching and have him focus on his stuff from his right side.

Fast track for Anderson?

Going into the 2025 MLB Draft, Seattle had one player at the top of its board: left-handed LSU starting pitcher Kade Anderson. When he fell to the Mariners, who had the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, the front office was visually celebratory and picked him.

Anderson, who led the NCAA Division I in strikeouts (180) and was the named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player, was considered the most pro-ready pitcher available in the draft.

Anderson didn't throw a pitch at the pro level last year. Despite that, he received a non-roster invite and will likely get at least a couple turns on the mound.

There's a very real chance that Anderson begins the year in Double-A if he puts up a solid year in spring training and that could lead him on the fast track to the majors.

All eyes on Emerson

Seattle's top overall prospect and a near-consensus top-10 prospect in baseball, Colt Emerson, will have a chance to punch his ticket to the Opening Day roster this spring.

Barring the Mariners signing or acquiring another third baseman, the hot corner will come down to either Ben Williamson or Emerson.

Emerson will get more opportunities due to the amount of players Seattle will have competing in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. When the WBC takes place March 5-17, Emerson will likely be the most-talked about player in Mariners camp.

Seattle's front office has already said that Emerson is a part of its 2026 plans. It's simply a matter of whether those plans begin in March or later.
