Based on a social media post from Washington Athletics, Cal Raleigh will be back in Seattle for a crucial matchup with No. 6 Oregon.

According to a social media post from University of Washington Athletics, Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh will be in attendance at Saturday's critical football matchup between U-Dub and the University of Oregon. The game will be played at 12:30 p.m. PT.

The Huskies enter play at 8-3 on the season while the Ducks are 10-1 and ranked No. 6 nationally. They have aspirations of winning the Big 10 title and reaching the College Football Playoff.

This will not be the first game at Husky Stadium for Raleigh this season, as he, Julio Rodriguez, Bryan Woo, and Emerson Hancock attended September's matchup against No. 1 Ohio State. Washington lost that matchup 24-6.

In addition to having a chance to play spoiler, this matchup could have increased importance for the Huskies, considering the recent rumors of head coach Jedd Fisch potentially being a match for the vacant Florida job.

Cal's got the key to the city

This just further exemplifies what we've said recently on the 'Refuse to Lose' podcast: Raleigh is the biggest athlete in the city of Seattle. The fact that Washington wants him for the biggest game of the season just continues to exemplify that. His presence should elicit quite the fan reaction.

From the podcast from earlier in November:

"Cal Raleigh is the biggest star in Seattle sports. This is his town now, and that's no shot at anybody else who plays here, but with Russell Wilson a few years gone, with Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor a few years gone, with DK Metcalf gone, with Sue Bird gone, like this is Cal Raleigh's town. That's his legacy.

That's what this season was. He signed the big deal, he stayed, he wanted to stay, he probably took less to stay. He carried the team from an on-field perspective and a clubhouse perspective. His leadership, his attitude, his demeanor, his discipline, it was surgical this season, and it goes back to spring training....

The MVP would have been a really nice cherry on top, and again, I feel that he deserved it, but all of this other stuff that Cal Raleigh leaves behind from 2025, to me, is going to live on forever. Cal Raleigh, this year, elevated the city of Seattle. Cal Raleigh, this year, elevated the franchise of the Seattle Mariners. Cal Raleigh was a major factor in why the Seattle Mariners did something they haven't done in a quarter century... Cal Raleigh gave a generation of fans something they'd never seen before. Cal Raleigh made probably a generation of kids Mariners fans. That's the real legacy."

    Cal's season

Raleigh finished second in the American League MVP voting after hitting 60 home runs and driving in 125. He had the most home runs ever by a catcher, the most home runs ever by a switch-hitter and the most home runs ever by a Mariners player.

He also started the All-Star Game and won the Home Run Derby.
