The M's no longer have a top-five system, but they are still in the top ten.

Despite the 2025 graduation of top prospect Cole Young and the trades of top prospects Harry Ford and Jurrangelo Cijntje this offseason, the Seattle Mariners were still given a very healthy farm system ranking from MLB Pipeline on Thursday night.

The M's, who have six Top 100 prospects in the latest MLB Pipeline rankings, have the eighth-best overall farm system in the sport, according to the service.

The newest edition of the team's Top 30 prospects was also released earlier this week.

What they're saying

Even with the trades that sent Harry Ford to the Nationals and Jurrangelo Cijntje to the Cardinals, the Mariners have six Top 100 guys, tied for the most in baseball. There have been different waves in this organization, with pitching back when Logan Gilbert, George Kirby et al came up, then with hitters like Cole Young and current No. 1 prospect Colt Emerson. And now there are more arms coming behind that, with both Kade Anderson and Ryan Sloan potentially moving up quickly to help in Seattle.

On that front

Emerson is vying for a major league roster spot on Opening Day, and if it doesn't come, he doesn't figure to have to wait long to get the call. We talked about Anderson's future on the most recent edition of the 'Refuse to Lose' podcast, including his potential for a 2026 debut, and pitching coach Pete Woodworth recently spoke about what's impressed him about both him and Sloan.

Anderson is ranked as the No. 21 prospect in the game while Sloan is No. 33.

What else to know about the farm system

Michael Arroyo also figures to make his major league debut this season. While there are questions about where and how he'll fit in defensively, there are no questions about his ability to hit.

He's enjoyed a nice spring thus far and is currently off playing for Colombia at the World Baseball Classic.

Furthermore, there's a chance that Lazaro Montes could debut this season as well. He's got the most power of any player in the M's minor league system.

--The aforementioned World Baseball Classic has already begun and Cal Raleigh and Gabe Speier (USA) will both open up their runs on Friday night against Brazil (5 p.m. PT). The Americans last won the title in 2017 and are hoping to wrestle it away from Japan, who won in 2023.
