Daniel Vogelbach is a hitting coach on the Milwaukee staff.

When the World Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays was set, we highlighted some of the player-connections to the Seattle Mariners on both sides.

First, Ben Williamson and Casey Legumina for the Rays, and Jake Bauers for the Brewers.

However, there is another former M's player serving an integral role for the Brewers, who are just two wins away from their first-ever World Series title: Daniel Vogelbach, who is a hitting coach on Milwaukee's staff.

You can see him in the video below, going viral after the Brewers hit a game-tying home run in Game 2. Milwaukee eventually went onto win 5-4 and take a 2-0 series lead.

Still just 33 years old, Vogelbach spent nine years in the big leagues with the Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays, Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and New York Mets. He made his biggest impact with the Mariners, hitting 30 home runs and driving in 76 runs in the 2019 campaign. He appeared in 144 games that season, though he hit just .208. He made the All-Star team, serving as the lone representative for a Seattle team that finished last in the American League West.

For his career, he hit .219 with 81 homers and 246 RBIs. In addition to his 30-homer season with Seattle, he had two other seasons of double-digit homers.

After his playing career ended in 2024, he took a coaching job with the Pirates for 2025. He got the Brewers job in January of 2026.

It seems like it's worked out pretty well for him.

Game 3 of the World Series is set for Monday night as the series shifts to Tampa Bay for the first time.

On the managerial front...

Reports this week indicated that the Mariners are hoping to have their next manager hired by Oct. 31, which is next Saturday.

Of course, there's no concrete timeline on it, but the M's would like to start the process of getting a new manager acclimated to Seattle and building relationships with those in the building.

Seattle has interviewed former Houston Astros manager Joe Espada and maintains interest in Chicago Cubs farm director Jason Kanzler, as well as former Twins manager Rocco Baldelli.
