Left-hander Tayler Saucedo will be joining the Los Angeles Angels

The Seattle Mariners bullpen was one of the most tumultuous units on the team for the majority of the 2025 season.

The Mariners experienced several injuries and inconsistent performances that led to a lot of roster turnover, especially in the first half of the campaign.

One of the players who went through his own inconsistencies and injuries was left-handed reliever Tayler Saucedo.

Seattle cut ties with the southpaw this offseason and designated him for assignment Nov. 18. He cleared waivers and elected free agency two days later.

According to Saucedo's social media, he seems to have found a new home.

Saucedo shared a story on his Instagram (@saucey07), saying he was "excited for (his) next journey," showing an image of the Los Angeles Angels logo. The Angels compete with the Mariners in the American League West.

MORE MARINERS STORIES:

Saucedo was originally acquired by Seattle on Jan. 31, 2023, after he was claimed off waivers from the New York Mets.

The Mets acquired Saucedo on Nov. 9, 2022, off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays.

With the Mariners, Saucedo enjoyed the longest stretch of his major league career (he made his debut with the Blue Jays in 2021).

From 2023-24, Saucedo posted a total ERA of 3.54 with 81 strikeouts in 86.1 innings pitched across 105 appearances.

Saucedo took a step back in production in 2025. He had a 7.43 ERA and fanned 12 batters in 13.1 innings pitched across 10 outings.

Saucedo began the year with the major league club but was optioned down to the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers on April 5. He was briefly recalled April 26 but was optioned down and placed on the seven-day injured list a day later with a left lat strain.

Saucedo was on the IL until July 1. He was recalled and optioned several more times for the rest of the season. His last outing of the year was arguably his best. He fanned four batters and allowed three hits in three innings against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sept. 3.

Saucedo became a favorite among Seattle fans due to his personality and emotion when on the mound. But the reemergence of fellow lefty Gabe Speier (2.61 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 76 appearances) lessened the Mariners' need for Saucedo on the roster. The M's also acquired southpaw Jose Ferrer, another high-leverage arm, in a trade with the Washington Nationals this offseason.
