The youngster has made quite an impact since coming to the big leagues, also catching the attention of current M's broadcaster Ryon Healy.
Since coming up to the big leagues in mid-May, Seattle Mariners top prospect Colt Emerson has made quite the impression. At just 20 years old, Emerson is hitting .255 with a .333 on-base percentage. He's smacked three homers, bringing in eight, and he's registered an OPS of .882 entering play on Friday.
His defense has also been excellent at third base, which is a new position for him on the diamond.
Speaking on the most recent 'Refuse to Lose Territory' podcast, former M's infielder and current M's broadcaster Ryon Healy spoke about just some of what he's seen from the rookie.

Because even when you watch Colt Emerson strike out, it's not like he's overmatched. He usually just didn't get a pitch in his zone to attack, or maybe he was a little bit too patient early in counts.
But if you watched him on Friday night against the D-Backs, he punched out three times. And my brain goes, "Okay, how's he going to respond tomorrow?" Well, the next day he ends up hitting a home run. You go, "Oh, I think he's gonna be all right."
And I asked him in the dugout on, I think it was Monday, I said, "Hey question for you about like just approach." I said, "What was the adjustment you made from Friday to Saturday?"
He's like, "Nothing."
I was like, "Really? So like there was nothing that you changed, nothing that you were looking for differently?"
He goes, "Honestly Ryan, I'm just looking for a pitch in my zone. And then if it's there, whether it's the first pitch or the last pitch of the at-bat, I'm going."
It's so simple, it's so fundamental that regardless of the results being negative or positive—he's able to just trust it, execute it, and repeat it day in and day out.
And that is a sign of a consistent, steady big leaguer that is still developing but doing a great job."
Emerson and the Mariners will open up a 10-game road trip on Friday afternoon against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Bryan Woo will pitch for Seattle while Framber Valdez takes the ball for Detroit.
The M's are 33-30 and in first place in the American League West. They eliminated the Tigers in the American League Division Series in 2025.
