Last year, the National Baseball Hall of Fame added to its ranks one of the greatest players in Seattle Mariners history.
Former Mariners MVP, 10-time All-Star and two-time American League batting champion Ichiro Suzuki was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2025 and was one vote away from being the second-ever unanimous selection in MLB history.
Suzuki's number was retired by the organization after his Hall of Fame induction. And Suzuki could soon be joined by several other Seattle players that will be on the HOF ballot in 2026.
Starting pitcher Felix Hernandez, shortstop/third baseman Alex Rodriguez, shortstop Omar Vizquel and infielder Edwin Encarnacion are on the ballot for 2026.
The 2026 ballot will be Hernandez's second year on the ballot. He and Suzuki were both on the 2025 ballot for the first time.
Hernandez earned 20.6% of votes from the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) in '25.
Hernandez spent the entirety of his major league career with the Mariners from 2005-19. He was a six-time All-Star, two-time AL ERA leader (2010, '14), MLB wins leader (2009) and AL Cy Young winner (2010).
Hernandez leads Seattle all-time in wins (169, career ERA (3.42), strikeouts (2,542) and Baseball Reference WAR (49.9)
Vizquel played with Seattle from 1989-93. He earned the first of 11 career Gold Glove awards with the Mariners in '93.
Vizquel earned three All-Star selections from 1998-99 and 2002 when he was with the then-Cleveland Indians. Including 2026, it will be Vizquel's ninth year on the ballot.
Rodriguez played with Seattle from 1994-2000. While playing the Pacific Northwest, he earned 4-of-14 career All-Star selections, earned 4-of-10 career Silver Slugger awards and was the MLB batting champion his rookie season in '96.
Encarnacion spent the least amount of time in the Pacific Northwest among the Hall of Fame-eligible players on the ballot. He played 16 season in the majors from 2005-20. He spent half a season with the the Mariners in 2019.
Encarnacion was acquired by Seattle in a massive three-team deal involving the Indians and Tampa Bay Rays on Dec. 13, 2018. Encarnacion scored 48 runs in 65 games with the Mariners and hit seven doubles and 21 home runs with 49 RBIs and slashed .241/.356/.531 with an .887 OPS.
The M's traded Encarnacion to the New York Yankees in return for Juan Then on June 25, 2019.
