The Seattle Mariners are coming off arguably the greatest season in franchise history.
For the first time since 2001, the Mariners won the American League West and made it to the American League Championship Series.
The great team success was also bolstered by a historic season from catcher Cal Raleigh in which he set the single-season MLB record for home runs by a catcher and switch-hitter (60).
The Mariners lost in Game 7 of the ALCS to the Toronto Blue Jays, marking the first time Seattle, which had five All-Stars in 2025 (including Raleigh), was one win away from the World Series.
Following the best postseason run in team history, there is genuine anticipation - and expectation - for the 2026 M's.
FanDuel released its over/under totals for major league teams this upcoming season on Wednesday. In the odds from the betting site, the Mariners are tied for the fourth-best over/under total in the majors at 89 1/2 wins.
The two other teams tied with Seattle is the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies.
That win total is second among the American League, behind the New York Yankees (92 1/2 wins). The Mariners are one win ahead of the team that beat them in the ALCS, the Blue Jays.
Seattle's projected over/under is a half-win behind where it finished in 2025. It's also the first in the AL West, ahead of the Houston Astros (86 1/2 wins), Texas Rangers (82 1/2), Athletics (75 1/2) and Los Angeles Angels (69 1/2).
Seattle began the offseason on a strong note by re-signing first baseman Josh Naylor to a five-year, $92.5 million contract. The M's also acquired left-handed reliever Jose Ferrer from the Washington Nationals, brought in utility player Rob Refsnyder, made several under-the-radar bullpen additions, signed free-agent backup catcher Andrew Knizner to a one-year deal and acquired another backup catcher, Jhonny Pereda, in a trade with the Minnesota Twins.
Some fans and analysts are anxiously waiting to see if the Mariners have another "big" move in their wheelhouse. They've been rumored to be one of the front-runners to land 2025 All-Star second baseman Brendan Donovan in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Spring training begins in two weeks.
