SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners are in the midst of the final week of the first half of the season.

The Mariners will play their final seven games before the All-Star Break in the next week, starting with a rubber match in a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays at 2:00 p.m. PT on Sunday at T-Mobile Park.

Seattle will have an off-day Monday before concluding the first half with a six-game road trip comprised of respective three-game series against the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays.

For most of the Mariners' remaining slate before the All-Star Break, the team will be without star center fielder Julio Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is still on the seven-day concussion injured list due to him taking a throw off the helmet during a game against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday.

The earliest Rodriguez can be activated off the IL is July 3. The soonest he'd be able to play is July 10 for game one against the Rays.

Rodriguez has been slowly progressing while nursing concussion symptoms and played a game of light catch before Seattle's game against Toronto on Sunday.

Despite steadily progressing, Rodriguez won't be traveling with the team to Florida and will be reassessed during the team's off-day Monday.

"The plan is to see how he is tomorrow," Mariners manager Dan Wilson said in a pregame interview Sunday. "Not traveling with the team tonight but see how he is tomorrow and then kind of make an assessment from there. He does seem to be progressing each day. Each day's gotten a little bit better. Today a little bit more activity, So it's just a matter of what he can handle from day-to-day. But encouraging signs today for sure."

Rodriguez is slashing .259/.323/.424 with a .747 OPS in 87 games this season and has hit 15 doubles and 14 home runs with 40 RBIs.

-- Designated hitter/outfielder Dominic Canzone will get an off-day for Sunday's series finale against the Blule Jays.

Canzone is still nursing left hamstring soreness, and Seattle is looking to get him two days off with Monday's off-day. Cal Raleigh will be the DH Sunday and and Mitch Garver will play catcher.

-- The Mariners are still attempting to figure out the rotation for the final six games of the first half. Seattle was supposed to go with a piggyback approach for Saturday with Logan Gilbert starting and Emerson Hancock coming out of the bullpen and one more on the road trip.

Instead, Seattle chose to have Gilbert get a "true" start Saturday and Hancock get one Sunday. The Mariners will have a six-man rotation for the six-game road trip.
