The M's took the series from the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.
The Seattle Mariners got great pitching from rookie Kade Anderson and just enough offense on Sunday afternoon to beat the Colorado Rockies 2-1 at Coors Field.
With the win, the Mariners are now 73-83 on the season. With six games to play, they have yet to be officially eliminated from the American League West race, though that could come as early as Tuesday.
For now, the Mariners will take satisfaction in a series win in their final road series of the year. They finished the road slate at a disappointing 33-48.
Anderson was the story of the game, as he went seven innings for the first time in his career, surrendering just three hits. He gave up no runs and walked none while striking out seven.
As noted by Mariners PR, Anderson is the first opposing pitcher in Coors Field history to record seven scoreless innings or more within his first six career games. Sure, it's a unique and niche stat, but it continues to show Anderson's growth and evolution.
He's now 2-2 with a 4.18 ERA. He is likely to have one more start this season, which would come next weekend at home against the Los Angeles Angels.
Offensively, the Mariners only had four hits, getting both RBIs from Dominic Canzone, who was 2-for-4.

Closer Andres Munoz surrendered the lone run of the game for the Mariners, giving up a solo homer to Hunter Goodman in the ninth inning. It was the ninth homer of the season allowed by Munoz, which has become a major problem. We covered what's gone on with Munoz this season earlier this week.
Munoz then issued a walk before leaving with an injury. At the time of this posting, it's unclear what his issue was, though he's had back issues in the past.
Eduard Bazardo, much maligned in the second half of the season, came in. He gave up a walk but had two strikeouts to secure the save, his first of the year.

The Mariners are back in action on Tuesday night against the Houston Astros at T-Mobile Park. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. PT.
The Astros are one game back of the Texas Rangers in the American League West, so the series has immense importance for them. Logan Gilbert will be on the mound for the Mariners.
The Astros just lost two-of-three against the Atlanta Braves at Daikin Park.
