The Mariners will be returning home for the first series of the second half of the season.
SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners are back from the All-Star Break and will be looking to have a much more successful second half of the season in comparison to the first.
Through the first 97 games of the season, the Mariners were 48-49 and 1.5 games behind the Texas Rangers for first place in the American League West. Seattle is barely holding on to the third and final AL wild card spot and is tied with the Minnesota Twins.
The Mariners will kick off the figurative second half of the year with a six-game homestand, starting with the first of a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants at 7:10 p.m. PT on Friday at T-Mobile Park.
Here's the pitching matchups for the series between Seattle and San Francisco:
June 17: Bryce Miller (Seattle, 2.18 ERA, 4-3) vs. Landen Roupp (San Francisco, 4.27 ERA, 6-8)
Bryce Miller is coming off his worst outing of the season, but still is in the midst of his best major league season. He struck out three, walked four and allowed six runs (four earned) on nine hits (one home run) in five innings pitched against the Miami Marlins on July 9.
Landen Roupp will get the first nod of the second half for the Giants. He is coming off his longest outing of the season. He fanned five, walked two and allowed one earned run on three hits (one homer) in eight innings pitched against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 6.
June 18: Bryan Woo (Seattle, 4.23 ERA, 7-6) vs. Logan Webb (San Francisco, 3.86 ERA, 5-7)
Bryan Woo will be looking to continue his strong stretch of home games - and bounce back from his start against the Marlins on July 7.
Woo struck out five, walked one and allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits (one home run) in five innings of work against Miami.

He fanned two, walked two and allowed five earned runs on five hits (one homer) in seven innings pitched.
Webb was named to the National League All-Star team.
June 19: Logan Gilbert (Seattle, 3.32 ERA, 7-6) vs. Robbie Ray (San Francisco, 3.38 ERA, 8-6)
Logan Gilbert hit his stride in the final month before the All-Star Break. He's had five consecutive outings pitching past the sixth inning. He struck out five, walked three (one intentionally) and allowed four earned runs on nine hits in 6.2 innings pitched the Tampa Bay Rays on July 11.
Robbie Ray will close out the series for San Francisco, looking to issue less free bases than his last time out.
The former Mariner fanned four, walked six and allowed one earned run on four hits in five innings of work against the Colorado Rockies on July 10.
His name has been the subject of trade rumors as the Aug. 3 deadline approaches.
