The Mariners will look to bounce back against their American League West rivals after a series loss against the Chicago White Sox

The Seattle Mariners are looking to close out their seven-game road trip on a strong note after a disappointing start to it in a three-game set against the Chicago White Sox over the weekend.

The Mariners dropped the final two games against the White Sox after taking the first one 12-8.

Seattle is currently 19-22 on the season and is a half-game behind Chicago for the final American League wild card spot and 2.5 games behind the Athletics for first place in the AL West.

The Mariners will look to bounce back in the final four games of the road trip and return home at or below .500. Those four games will all take place against Seattle's arch rivals, the Houston Astros, at Daikin Park in Houston.

Here's an overview of the pitching matchups for the series between the Mariners and the Astros:

May 11: George Kirby (Seattle, 4-2, 2.94 ERA) vs. Peter Lambert (Houston, 2-2, 2.42 ERA)

George Kirby is coming off his third quality start of the season that was seven innings or longer.

Kirby struck out five, walked one and allowed two earned runs on five hits in seven innings pitched against the Atlanta Braves on May 5.

Peter Lambert, who's in his first season with Houston, is coming off his own seven-inning quality start. He fanned four, walked four and allowed three hits without a run in seven innings of work against the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 5.

May 12: Bryan Woo (Seattle, 2-2, 4.02 ERA) vs. Tatsuya Imai (Houston, 1-0, 7.27 ERA)

Bryan Woo will enter his start against the Astros having regained his 2025 All-Star form after two-straight rough starts.

Woo struck out nine hitters, walked two and allowed one hit in six innings against the Braves on May 6.

Tatsuya Imai will be making his first major league start since landing on the 15-day injured list with right arm fatigue April 13 (retroactive to May 12).

Imai's last major league start was against Seattle on April 10. He pitched just one-third of an inning, walked four batters, hit another and allowed three earned runs on one hit before exiting the game early.

May 13: Bryce Miller (Seattle, season debut) vs. Lance McCullers Jr. (Houston, 2-3, 7.41 ERA)

Bryce Miller will be making his season debut in game three against Houston on Wednesday. He's missed the entire season due to this point due to a left oblique strain.

In four rehab starts this year — two with the High-A Everett AquaSox and another two with the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers — Miller posted a 1.98 ERA and struck out 14 hitters in 13.2 innings pitched.

Lance McCullers Jr. will be looking to bounce back after his worst outing of the season to this point. He fanned four, walked three and allowed six earned runs on four hits (one home run) in 2.2 innings pitched against the Dodgers on May 6.

May 14: Luis Castillo (Seattle, 0-4, 6.57 ERA) vs. Mike Burrows (Houston, 2-4, 5.04 ERA)

Luis Castillo is still looking to regain the form that netted him three All-Star selections in his decade-long career with the Cincinnati Reds and Seattle. He struck out six, hit a batter and allowed four earned runs on five hits (two homers) in four innings of work against Chicago on May 9. It was his sixth time in eight starts this year allowing four or more runs (fourth time in which at least four runs allowed have been earned).

Mike Burrows has posted three quality starts in four outings since last facing the Mariners on April 13. In his last outing against the M's — arguably his worst of the season — Burrows fanned three, walked one and allowed six earned runs on 11 hits (two homers) in six innings pitched April 13.
