The Mariners will embark on their first road series of the season and their first set against an American League West foe
The Seattle Mariners are coming off their first homestand of the season. The Mariners faced two American League playoff teams from 2025.
The Mariners split a four-game series against the Cleveland Guardians from March 26- 29 and lost a three-game series against the New York Yankees, which took place from March 30-April 1.
After a day off Thursday, Seattle will embark on its first road trip of the season. They are currently 3-4.
The road trip will take place from April 3-8 and will be comprised of two respective three-game series against Mariners' American League West foes: the Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers.
Seattle will play the first game of the trip at 6:38 p.m. PT on Friday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.
Here's the pitching matchups for the three-game set between the Mariners and Angels:
April 3: Bryan Woo (Mariners, 0-0, 3.00 ERA) vs. Reid Detmers (Angels, 0-0, 5.79 ERA)
Seattle's 2025 All-Star, Bryan Woo, is looking to put together a strong second outing of the season.
Woo's first outing of the year against the Guardians, which resulted in a 6-5, 10th-inning loss for the M's on March 28, was a solid one.
The 26-year-old struck out nine batters, walked one and allowed two earned runs on four hits in six innings pitched.
Despite the quality start, Woo took ownership of the loss in a postgame interview. He'll have an opportunity to right his self-perceived wrongs against Los Angeles.
Detmers' first and last start of the season was in an 11-9 loss against the Houston Astros on March 28. He fanned nine, hit a batter and allowed three earned runs on six hits in 4.2 innings pitched.
April 4: Emerson Hancock (Mariners, 1-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Jack Kochanowicz (Angels, 0-0, 11.25 ERA)
Hancock, who made the starting rotation this season in place of injured right-hander Bryce Miller (oblique strain; 15-day injured list) had the best start of his career.
In an 8-0 win against Cleveland on March 29, Hancock struck out eight and didn't allow a hit in six innings pitched. He walked one batter and hit another. His nine fanned batters were a single-game career-high.
Kochanowicz will be looking to flush his first outing of the year, which came in a 9-7 loss against the Astros. He punched out three hitters but issued five walks and allowed six runs (five earned) on four hits in four innings pitched.
April 5: Luis Castillo (Mariners, 0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Ryan Johnson (Angels, 0-1, 16.20 ERA)
Castillo was tasked with starting off the M's series against the Yankees on March 30 and delivered the Mariners' only win of the series against the Bronx Bombers.
The three-time All-Star struck out seven, walked two and allowed two hits in six innings pitched against New York.

He fanned two, walked four and allowed six earned runs on seven hits (one home run) in 3.1 innings of work.
