The Mariners are still looking to chase their first series win of the season

The Seattle Mariners are still looking for their first series win of the season after dropping the final two of a three-game set against the Los Angeles Angels over the weekend.

The Mariners will close out their six-game road trip with a three-game set against another American League West foe, the Texas Rangers. The series will begin at 5:05 p.m. PT on Monday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Here's the pitching matchup for the upcoming three-game series.

April 6: Logan Gilbert (Mariners, 0-1, 6.75 ERA) vs. Jacob deGrom (Rangers, 0-0, 5.79 ERA)

The Mariners' Opening Day starter is still the only starting pitcher on the team yet to record a quality start this season.

Gilbert struck out six, walked three and allowed five earned runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings against the New York Yankees on March 31. He's yet to go through the sixth inning in either of his starts this year.

deGrom made his first start of the season against the Baltimore Orioles on March 31 and was unable to get through the fifth inning. He fanned seven and allowed three earned runs on six hits (one homer) in 4.2 innings pitched.

April 7: George Kirby (Mariners, 1-1, 3.75 ERA) vs. Nathan Eovaldi (Rangers, 0-2, 11.42 ERA)

Kirby has struck out at least six batters in both of his starts this year. His first outing was a six-inning quality start where he allowed just one earned run.

Kirby's most recent outing against the Yankees on April 1 wasn't as fruitful. He fanned six, walked three and allowed four earned runs on five hits (one home run) in six innings pitched.

Eovaldi hasn't yet found his usual form through two starts this season. He's allowed at least five earned runs on eight hits in both outings and hasn't made it through the fifth inning in either.

Eovaldi has allowed a combined 11 earned runs on 16 hits, including three homers.

April 8: Bryan Woo (Mariners, 0-0, 1.38 ERA) vs. MacKenzie Gore (Rangers, 1-0, 3.97 ERA)

Woo, Seattle's only All-Star from the starting rotation in 2025, is coming off the longest outing of the year for any M's starter.

Woo struck out nine batters, walked one, hit another and allowed one hit in seven innings pitched against the Angels on April 3. That outing was Woo's second quality start of the season.

Gore, who has two starts on the year in his own right, registered his first quality start in a game against the Cincinnati Reds on April 3. He fanned nine and allowed three earned runs on six hits (two homers) in six innings pitched.
