SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners snapped a three-series losing streak with a sweep in a three-game set against the Los Angeles Angels at T-Mobile Park

The Mariners entered the series one game below .500 but are now multiple games above that mark (45-43) and tied with the Texas Rangers for first place in the American League West.

Seattle will look to secure a winning homestand and extend its series win streak to two in a three-game set against the Toronto Blue Jays, which will double as a rematch of the 2025 American League Championship Series. Toronto won that series in seven agonizing games. 

Here's the pitching matchups for the series between the Mariners and Blue Jays:

Luis Castillo will be tasked with kicking off the series against Toronto and he will be coming off his second quality start of the season.

Castillo struck out four, walked one and allowed one earned run on four hits in six innings pitched against the Cleveland Guardians on June 26.

Dylan Cease is coming off a high-strikeout, but inefficient outing against the Rangers on June 27. He fanned 10, but walked five and allowed four earned runs on as many hits in 4.2 innings pitched.

Seattle will be returning to its piggyback format for the second game of the series against the Blue Jays on Saturday. Unlike the previous days the Mariners went with that arrangement, in which Castillo and Bryce Miller got the nod, Logan Gilbert and Emerson Hancock will get the nod, with the former getting the start.

Gilbert struck out seven and allowed four earned runs on seven hits in seven innings pitched against the Guardians on June 27.

Hancock fanned six, walked three and allowed one earned run on five hits in 5.2 innings pitched against Cleveland on June 28.

Shane Bieber is still looking to find his form after returning from the injured list June 23. He struck out four, walked four and allowed two earned runs on five hits (one home run) in 5.1 innings of work in his second start of the season against Texas on June 28.

George Kirby will close out the series coming off arguably his best outings of the year. He fanned seven, walked one and allowed two earned runs on seven hits (one homer) in eight innings pitched against the Angels on June 29.

Trey Yesavage will get the nod in the finale for the Blue Jays. He struck out three, hit a batter and allowed one earned run on three hits (one home run) in 6.2 innings against the New York Mets on June 29.
