The Mariners will be taking on the Athletics with first place in the American League West on the line.
The Seattle Mariners and Athletics will face off in a three-game series, beginning at 6:40 p.m. PT on Monday at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, Calif., with first place in the American League West on the line.
The Mariners were unable to take their weekend series against the struggling Kansas City Royals and lost 8-6 in the rubber match on Sunday, placing the M's 2.5 games behind the A's in the AL West.
Seattle will have to sweep the Athletics to gain first place in the division.
Here's the pitching probables for the series between the Mariners and Athletics:
May 25: Luis Castillo (Seattle, 1-5, 6.41 ERA) vs. Aaron Civale (Athletics, 5-1, 3.31 ERA)
Luis Castillo will get the nod in Seattle's second time through the order going with the piggyback experiment between him and Bryce Miller.
Castillo, who pitched in long-relief behind Miller's start the last piggyback outing against the Chicago White Sox on May 19, struck out four, walked two, hit a batter and allowed two earned runs on one hit in 2.1 innings pitched in that game.
The three-time All-Star last pitched against the A's on April 21. He fanned six, walked two and allowed two earned runs on five hits (one home run) in five innings pitched.
Aaron Civale will be looking to bounce back after his last outing, in which he struck out two, walked two and allowed five earned runs on as many hits (three homers) in five innings pitched against the Los Angeles Angels on May 20.
Civale last started against the Mariners on April 22. He fanned five, walked one and allowed three earned runs on six hits (one home run) in 5.1 innings pitched.
May 26: Emerson Hancock (Seattle, 3-2, 3.07 ERA) vs. Luis Severino (Athletics, 2-5, 4.23 ERA)
Emerson Hancock had an effective, if not shorter start against the White Sox on May 20. He struck out four, walked three and allowed two earned runs on five hits in five innings pitched.
Hancock last pitched against the A's on April 20. He fanned three and allowed three earned runs on seven hits (three homers) in five innings pitched.

He struck out a season-high 10 batters and allowed two earned runs on three hits (one home run) against the Angles on May 21.
May 27: Logan Gilbert (Seattle, 2-4, 4.04 ERA) vs. Jeffrey Springs (Athletics, 3-5, 4.11 ERA)
Logan Gilbert posted a scoreless outing against Kansas City on May 22. He fanned six, walked two and allowed two hits in 5.2 innings pitched.
Gilbert had his shortest outing of the season against the A's on April 22. He struck out three, walked two, hit a batter and allowed three earned runs on six hits in four innings pitched.
Jeffrey Springs was unable to quell the San Diego Padres his last start May 22. He fanned three, walked three and allowed four earned runs on three hits (three homers) in 6.1 innings May 22.
