The Mariners will be looking to take control back in the American League West in the first leg of a homestand at T-Mobile Park.
SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners are coming off a disappointing 2-4 road trip that included several frustrating losses, including one of the worst of the season for the team.
The Mariners closed out the road trip with a 6-5 loss against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday. Cleveland scored five runs in the eighth inning after being down 4-1 going into the frame.
The loss dropped Seattle to 42-43 on the season and put it a half-game behind the Texas Rangers for first place in the American League West.
The Mariners will have an opportunity to bounce back with an upcoming six-game homestand. The first three games will consist of matchups against the AL West's basement dwellers, the Los Angeles Angels.
Here's the pitching matchups for the series between Seattle and Los Angeles:
June 29: George Kirby (Seattle, 3.94 ERA, 6-7) vs. Ryan Johnson (Los Angeles, 8.84 ERA, 1-2)
George Kirby will kick off the series on a streak of three straight quality starts. He struck out five, walked two and allowed two runs (one earned) on nine hits in six innings pitched against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 23.
pRyan Johnson, who recently moved fully from the bullpen to the starting rotation, is coming off his best outing of the season, starting or otherwise.
Johnson fanned eight, walked one and surrendered one hit in six innings of work against the Baltimore Orioles on June 23.
June 30: Bryan Woo (Seattle, 4.26 ERA, 6-6) vs. Jose Soriano (Los Angeles, 3.32 ERA, 8-4)
Bryan Woo's road struggles this season continued against the Pirates on June 24. He struck out four, walked two and allowed five earned runs on six hits in four innings pitched.

July 2: Bryce Miller (Seattle, 1.97 ERA, 3-2) vs. Walbert Urena (Los Angeles, 3.14 ERA, 5-6)
Bryce Miller will get the final start of the series coming off an outing where he allowed the most runs he has this season, but also punched out the most hitters.
Miller had 11 strikeouts and allowed three earned runs on five hits (two homers) in 5.2 innings against Pittsburgh on June 25.
Walbert Urena will close out the series of the Angles coming off arguably his worst start of the year. He fanned five, walked two and allowed seven earned runs on six hits in 4.1 innings against the Athletics on June 26.
