The Mariners will look to extend their win and series sweep streak against the maligned Mets.
SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners are on their best stretch of the season and will be looking to continue that run in a three-game series against the New York Mets, beginning at 6:40 p.m. PT on Monday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
The Mariners are entering the second leg of their six-game homestand and are entering Monday on a six-game win streak and on the better end of two consecutive series sweeps against the Athletics and Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Mets come into game one of the three-game set coming off a three-game sweep against the Miami Marlins. Despite the sweep, the Queens, N.Y., franchise is still fourth in the division with a 26-33 record — 13.5 games behind the first-place Atlanta Braves.
Seattle, on the other hand, will be entering the series atop the American League West with a 31-29 record and 2.5 games ahead of the A's and Texas Rangers.
With both teams having something to play for, here's the pitching probables for the series between the Mariners and Mets, respectively:
June 1: Emerson Hancock (Seattle, 4-2, 2.78 ERA) vs. Austin Warren (New York, 1-1, 1.40 ERA)
Emerson Hancock will be kicking off the month of June looking to continue his career-best season.
Hancock is coming off his seventh quality start in 11 outings this season. He struck out three, walked two, hit one and allowed one hit in six innings pitched against the Athletics on May 26.
Monday will mark the first start of the season (and career) for right-handed reliever Austin Warren, who will be starting in a bullpen day for New York.
Warren has fanned 22 batters in 19.1 innings pitched across 14 outings this season.
June 2: Logan Gilbert (Seattle, 3-4, 3.69 ERA) vs. Jonah Tong (New York, 1-0, 0.00 ERA)
Logan Gilbert will be looking to clinch the fourth scoreless outing in his last six starts in game two of the series against the Mets.
The 2024 All-Star struck out six, walked two and allowed five hits in six innings pitched against the A's on May 27.

It would be his first start of the season and sixth start in eight appearances since making his major league debut in 2025.
In two relief outings, Tong has fanned three, walked five and allowed one run (unearned) on three hits in 6.2 inning pitched.
June 3: George Kirby (Seattle, 5-4, 3.77 ERA) vs. Freddy Peralta (New York, 3-4, 3.55 ERA)
George Kirby will be looking for his seventh quality start of the season while attempting to bounce back against his latest outing.
Kirby struck out four, walked one and allowed four earned runs on six hits (one home run) in 5.1 innings pitched against the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Freddy Peralta will be looking to put together a solid start after a shorter outing against the Marlins on Friday.
Peralta fanned five, walked one and allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits in 4.2 innings pitched against Miami.
