Both teams will enter the first series of the Eddie Vedder Cup on win streaks and coming off respective four-game sweeps

The Seattle Mariners are coming off a dominant showing against their American League West archrivals, the Houston Astros.

The Mariners entered the four-game series Friday on a five-game losing streak. They snapped that and flipped their fortunes into a four-game win streak, which was comprised of a rare four-game series sweep.

Seattle will have no breaks after the sweep and will head on the road to face the San Diego Padres in the first of a three-game set at 6:40 p.m. PT on Tuesday  at Petco Park in San Diego.

The Padres are entering the game on their own strong streak. They won five straight and completed their own four-game streak against the Colorado Rockies.

This three-game set will also double as the first leg of the Eddie Vedder Cup between Seattle and San Diego.

Here's an overview of the pitching matchups between the two teams:

April 14: Bryan Woo (Mariners, 0-1, 1.50 ERA) vs. Michael King (Padres, 1-1, 3.24 ERA)

Woo is coming off his shortest outing of the season. He struck out two, walked two and allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits in five innings pitched against the Texas Rangers on April 8. He'll be looking for his third quality start of the season in four appearances.

King is coming off his first quality start of the season. He fanned four, walked three and allowed two earned runs on four hits in six innings of work against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 8.

April 15: Emerson Hancock (Mariners, 2-1, 2.04 ERA) vs. Randy Vasquez (Padres, 1-0, 1.02 ERA)

Hancock, like Woo, entered his last appearance coming off two quality starts but came one inning shy of making it a third against Houston on April 10.

Hancock fanned five, walked two and allowed three earned runs on four hits in five innings pitched.

Hancock will take on Vasquez, who has quietly been one of the best starters in the National League this season.

Vasquez fanned eight, hit a batter and allowed one earned run on seven hits (one homer) in 5.2 innings pitched against the Rockies on April 9.

April 16: Luis Castillo (Mariners, 0-0, 6.92 ERA) vs. Walker Buehler (Padres, 0-1, 4.97 ERA)

Castillo will closing out the first three games of the Eddie Vedder Cup looking to bounce back from his last appearance.

The three-time All-Star struck out three, walked a batter and allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits (one home run) in 3.1 innings pitched against the Astros on April 11.

On the flip side of things, Buehler is coming off his first quality start of the year. He fanned four, didn't issue a free base, didn't allow a run and gave up three hits in six innings of work against Colorado on April 10.
