The Mariners will be looking for a semblance of revenge for an earlier series against their American League West rivals

SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners were unable to keep their momentum rolling through the week and were swept in a three-game series against the San Diego Padres from Tuesday through Thursday.

The sweep at the hands of the Padres dropped the Mariners to 8-12 on the season and 1-8 on the road.

Seattle will look to bounce back and get back to .500 or a winning record in a six-game homestand, which begins with the first of a three-game series against the Texas Rangers at 6:40 p.m. PT on Friday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

Here's the pitching probables for the series between the Mariners and Rangers:

April 17: Logan Gilbert (Mariners, 1-2, 4.18 ERA) vs. Jacob deGrom (Rangers, 1-0, 2.87 ERA)

Gilbert will be looking to continue his streak of two-straight quality starts, which began with an outing against Texas on April 6. Against the Rangers, Gilbert fanned five and allowed two earned runs on six hits in six innings pitched.

deGrom posted his first quality start of the season against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 16. His second outing of the season came April 6 against Seattle. In that outing, the two-time Cy Young winner fanned six, walked one and allowed one earned run on one hit (one homer) in five innings pitched.

April 18: George Kirby (Mariners, 2-2, 3.25 ERA) vs. Nathan Eovaldi (Rangers, 2-2, 5.40 ERA)

Kirby has posted two-straight quality starts where he's pitched into or through the eighth inning. The first of those two outings came against Texas on April 7. In that start, he struck out four and allowed three earned runs on six hits (one home run) in eight innings.

Eovaldi, similar to Kirby, is on a streak of two-straight quality starts, which began against the Mariners on April 7. The two-time All-Star fanned seven, walked two and allowed two earned runs on six hits (one homer) in six innings pitched in his appearance against the M's.

April 18: Bryan Woo (Mariners, 0-2, 2.16 ERA) vs. MacKenzie Gore (Rangers, 2-1, 3.00 ERA)

Woo has posted three quality starts in four outings this season. The only start he had that wasn't quality was his previous appearance against the Rangers on April 8. The 2025 All-Star punched out a season-low two hitters, walked two and allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits in five innings pitched.

Gore was able to shut down the M's in his last outing against them April 8. He fanned a season-high nine hitters, walked two and allowed one hit in five innings pitched.
