The Mariners will look to keep their hot stretch going in the first series of a 10-game road trip.
The Seattle Mariners will begin a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers at 3:40 p.m. PT on Friday at Comerica Park in Detroit coming off their best stretch of the season.
The Mariners went 8-1 on a nine-game stretch which included series wins against the Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets. Seattle swept the A's and Arizona.
During that stretch, the Mariners took the lead in the American League West. Seattle will begin its series against Detroit with a 2.5-game lead atop the division over the Athletics and Texas Rangers.
The Mariners series against the Tigers will represent the first three of a 10-game road trip for the M's, which will present an opportunity for the M's to further cement their hold on the AL West.
Here's the probable pitchers for the series between Seattle and Detroit:
June 5: Bryan Woo (Seattle, 5-3, 3.44 ERA) vs. Framber Valdez (Detroit, 2-4, 4.39 ERA)
Bryan Woo will kick off the series against the Tigers coming off a near-flawless outing against the Diamondbacks on May 30.
Woo fanned nine and allowed just two hits in seven innings pitched. It was his fourth time pitching through the seventh inning this season and fourth time with a scoreless start.
Framber Valdez will be the first pitcher through the order for Detroit. He's coming off a longer outing in his own right but wasn't able to post "zeroes" as Woo was able to.
Valdez fanned four, walked one and allowed four earned runs on six hits (one home run) in 6.2 innings of work against the Chicago White Sox on May 30.
June 6: Bryce Miller (Seattle, 1-0, 1.71 ERA) vs. Keider Montero (Detroit, 2-3, 3.69 ERA)
After three turns through the order in which Bryce Miller and Luis Castillo piggybacked off each other, Seattle will go back to a six-man rotation, at least for the road trip.
Miller will get the start in game two of the series coming off a solid outing against Arizona on May 31. He struck out six, walked one and allowed one hit in five innings pitched. He got the start in the piggyback arrangement with Castillo.
Keider Montero will take the mound coming off a scoreless start in his own right. He fanned four and allowed two hits in six innings pitched against the White Sox on May 31.
June 7: Luis Castillo (Seattle, 2-5, 5.53 ERA) vs. Jack Flaherty (Detroit, 1-7, 5.31 ERA)
Castillo pitched in relief against the Diamondbacks on May 31 and finished with a solid final line in his own right.

Jack Flaherty will look to build off his first true shutout of the season, which came against the Tampa Bay Rays on June 2. He fanned six, walked two and allowed five hits in five innings pitched. It was his first start of 2026 not allowing a run, earned or otherwise.
