Going into this offseason, adding to the bullpen was a key point for the Seattle Mariners.
The Mariners have been attempting to improve their bullpen for several years and recently made another move in that effort by acquiring high-leverage left-handed reliever Jose Ferrer from the Washington Nationals.
Another pitcher Seattle acquired two years ago to fulfill that purpose recently found a new home with the San Francisco Giants.
According to a report on "X" from Francys Romero, right-handed reliever Gregory Santos signed a minor league deal with the Giants with a non-roster invite to spring training.

Here's What Seattle Mariners' Lineup Looks Like Without Jorge Polanco
Santos was non-tendered by the Mariners at the end of the season, which made him a free agent.
Seattle originally acquired Santos in a trade with the Chicago White Sox on Feb. 3, 2024.
Santos was one of the hardest-throwing pitchers in the Mariners organization, with a fastball consistently capable of touching the upper-90 mph range and triple digits.
Despite his lively arm, Santos' time in the Pacific Northwest was plagued with injuries.
In two seasons from 2024-25, Santos posted a 5.02 ERA with six strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched across 16 appearances.
This past year, Santos broke camp with Seattle but was placed on the injured list April 29 after undergoing surgery to clean out cartilage in his knee. Including his time in the minor leagues, he had just 14 outings.
In his two years with the M's, Santos spent time on the injured list due to a right lat strain, right biceps inflammation and his aforementioned knee surgery.
Santos was originally signed by the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic on Aug. 28, 2015. He was acquired by San Francisco in a trade with Boston on July 26, 2017.
Santos spent five years with the Giants organization, where he made his major league debut in 2021.
Santos had five outings with San Francisco in 2021-22. He had an 11.12 ERA and fanned five batters in 5.2 innings pitched.
Santos' time with the Giants ended after he was traded to the White Sox on Dec. 22, 2022. He had his best major league season with Chicago in 2023. That season, he posted a 3.39 ERA with 66 batters in 66.1 innings pitched across 60 appearances. He had six holds and five saves in nine opportunities that year.
Injuries stopped Santos from reaching his peak with the Mariners, but the hope is a return to a familiar place will help him regain the form he had with the White Sox.
