After winning two out of three games against the Chicago White Sox this week at T-Mobile Park, the Seattle Mariners are back in action on Friday night against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

The Mariners are 24-27 and in third place in the American League West while the Royals are 1-9 in their last 10 games. They were just swept by the Boston Red Sox.

And after getting Matt Brash back from injury on Wednesday, the M's got another piece back on Friday. The team activated Victor Robles from the injured list while sending Connor Joe down to Triple-A Tacoma. Robles has been out with a strained right pec.

While he's on the short side of a platoon role with Luke Raley and Dominic Canzone, Robles has played only five games and amassed just 13 at-bats. He's 3-for-13 (.231) with a stolen base and an RBI.

The hope is that Robles can provide some of the spark he did in 2024 when he hit .328 for the Mariners in 77 games, also stealing 30 bases. He provides an athleticism that the Mariners don't have a ton of and can also play defense in late-game situations if the team needs it.

Furthermore, the Mariners will hope that Robles helps them alleviate some of their woes against left-handed pitching, where they have really struggled. Robles figures to start against lefties alongside Rob Refsnyder, who is hitting just .106 thus far this season.

Robles and the Mariners will see a lefty on Friday night as Noah Cameron takes to the mound for Kansas City.

He hit .256 on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma, going 11-for-43 with seven RBIs and two stolen bases. He's being paid $5 million dollars this season while Refsnyder is being paid $6.25. Both players figure to be safe for a little while, but should they struggle more, slugging youngster Brennen Davis is making quite an impression at Triple-A and could be an option for the roster.

The Mariners and Royals will play on Friday afternoon at 4:40 p.m. PT. George Kirby will pitch against Stephen Kolek on Saturday afternoon while Bryan Woo battles with Seth Lugo on Sunday.

The Mariners will head to West Sacramento next to take on the A's, who currently lead the American League West.
