In 2025, the Seattle Mariners had between eight and nine prospects in the Top 100, depending on which prospect service you follow.
The M's have been universally regarded as having one of the best systems in baseball over the last calendar year, but that perception took a hit on Wednesday when Baseball America gave its new Top 100 rankings ahead of the 2026 campaign.
The Mariners, surprisingly, had just four players on that list with several players dropping off the Top 100. Reminder, the M's traded away Harry Ford, who is still on the list (No. 99), contributing to some of the drop-off as well.
Here's what you need to know:
Drafted by the Mariners in the first round of the 2023 draft out of the Ohio high school ranks, Emerson is regarded as one of the top prospects in the sport. Still just 20 years old, he blistered through the system in 2025, hitting .285 between High-A Everett, Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Tacoma. He ended the year on the M's postseason taxi squad and reportedly has a chance to make the roster on Opening Day in 2026.
He only has 40 games of experience at Double-A or above, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him begin the year at Triple-A, but he'll have a shot to earn the third base job.
Even if he plays third this year, he is regarded as the shortstop of the future.
He joined our 'Refuse to Lose' podcast in June of 2025 and you can listen here.
Recently ranked as the third-best lefty pitching prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline, Anderson was the team's first-round pick (No. 3) in 2025.
At 21 years old, he's listed at 6'2 and 179 pounds. Anderson was the Most Outstanding Player at the College World Series as he allowed just one run in 17 innings for LSU. As noted by MLB Pipeline, he had 180 strikeouts in 119 innings, leading Division I in total K's. He also helped LSU win the College World Series championship, beating Coastal Carolina.
The most powerful offensive prospect in the M's system, Montes has drawn comparisons to fellow Cuban, Yordan Alvarez. Still just 21, he hit .241 between High-A Everett and Arkansas, spending the last 64 games of 2025 with the Travelers. He hit 32 home runs and drove in 89 runs in total - and that comes off a 105-RBI season in 2024.
Ranked as the No. 6 right-handed pitching prospect by MLB Pipeline, Sloan was the team's second-round pick in 2024.
Still just 19 years old, he did not pitch in affiliated ball after getting drafted, making 2025 his first taste of professional baseball. Pitching for a combination of Single-A Modesto and High-A Everett, Sloan went 2-4 with a 3.73 ERA, striking out 90 batters in 82.0 innings. Opponents hit .256 against him, which seems high, but the Cal and Northwest Leagues are both seen as hitter-friendly.
Outfielder Jonny Farmelo, infielder Michael Arroyo and switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje. Felnin Celesten also failed to make it back in the Top 100, where he had been previously.
