Nobody does a ceremony quite like the Seattle Mariners and that very evident on Thursday night against the Cleveland Guardians.

SEATTLE -- Nobody does a ceremony quite like the Seattle Mariners and that was evident again on Opening Night before the game against the Cleveland Guardians.

It's the 50th season of Mariners baseball and the M's made sure to honor both the past and the present in a pregame ceremony that lasted just over 30 minutes and went up until first pitch.

Here are the highlights that you need to be aware of.

Segui family honored

The Mariners brought back former first baseman David Segui, who delivered the game ball to the pitchers mound in honor of his father, Diego, who passed away during the offseason.

Diego Segui threw the first pitch in Mariners history, back in 1977.

Roster and lineup announcements

Seattle began the night by announcing the support staff before moving to the coaching staff. There were big rounds of applause for former Mariners Danny Farquhar (assistant pitching coach) and Austin Nola (bullpen coach). Hall of Famer Edgar Martinez received the loudest ovation before the players were announced.

There were huge ovations for several long-tenured Mariners, including George Kirby, Andres Munoz and Bryan Woo, though truthfully every player received a solid ovation.

The starting lineup came next, with fans showing particular excitement for Josh Naylor, Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh.

The banner gets raised

Once the lineups were announced, it was time for the Mariners to celebrate the 2025 season one more time by raising the American League West championship banner into the rafters.

The M's won division titles in 1995, 1997, 2001 and 2025.

More Mariners history gets honored

David Segui came back out to catch the first pitch from former M's outfielder Ruppert Jones. A 12-year veteran, Jones spent three years with the Mariners (1977-79). An All-Star in that inaugural 1977 campaign, Jones hit 24 homers and drove in 76.

Leonard Williams makes an appearance

The Seattle Seahawks standout defensive lineman came out to rile up the crowd right before first pitch, and he did just that. He did his trademark celebration for the crowd and took the microphone. Given that the Hawks just won the Super Bowl, he's a very popular person right now.

Then, the game started and Brendan Donovan hit a home run in his first-ever M's at-bat. Dominic Canzone homered in the bottom of the second.

The Mariners and Guardians will play again on Friday night at 6:40 p.m. PT. George Kirby is on the mound.
