After Felnin Celesten got promoted to Double-A Arkansas, the Mariners are sending two more players with him.
On Sunday, word got out that the Seattle Mariners were promoting top prospect Felnin Celesten to Double-A Arkansas.
Well, based on new reports on Monday, the Mariners are sending outfielder Jonny Farmelo and pitcher Lucas Kelly with him to Little Rock.
Here's what you need to know.
About Farmelo
Currently ranked as the No. 5 prospect in the organization via MLB Pipeline, the 21-year-old outfielder was the No. 29 overall pick in the 2023 draft, taken just picks after Colt Emerson.
While injuries have stalled his development a bit, Farmelo is back on track this season, as he hit .267 with a .386 on-base percentage in 83 games at High-A Everett.
A solid athlete with good speed, Farmelo had 17 doubles, seven triples and 13 home runs, while also stealing 26 bases.
MLB Pipeline projects his major league debut to come in 2028, and there should be opportunity there based on Randy Arozarena's and Victor Robles's contracts ending after 2026.
Brendan Donovan's contract ends after 2027 and Luke Raley's after 2028.

Now 22 years old, Kelly was a sixth-round pick of the Mariners in 2025. He helped the AquaSox win the Northwest League title in 2025 and has gone 2-3 with a 4.88 ERA this season (24 games). Used exclusively as a reliever, he's struck out 57 batters in just 31.1 innings, but he does have 21 walks. Opponents are hitting only .217 against him.

Celesten, who was originally signed as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic on Jan. 15, 2023, is in the midst of a career-best professional season.
In 80 games with Everett this season, Celesten is slashing .314/.409/.534 with a .943 OPS and has hit 21 doubles, four triples and 13 home runs with 52 RBIs and has stolen 18 bases in 22 attempts.
Up next for the Mariners
The Mariners enter play on Monday at 50-50 overall and just 1.5 games back of the Texas Rangers in the American League West. They are also one game back of the Boston Red Sox in the wild card race.
They will be back in action on Monday night at 6:40 p.m. PT in the opening of a three-game set against the Cincinnati Reds.
Left-hander Andrew Abbott will pitch for Cincy against right-hander George Kirby.
