Outfielder Victor Robles and starting pitcher Bryce Miller appear to be on different timelines for their return
SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners have gotten through the first two weeks of the season with a (mostly) clean bill of health.
Even with a mostly healthy roster, especially compared to this point last year, the Mariners haven't been completely immune.
Seattle outfielder Victor Robles landed on the 10-day injured list April 8 (retroactive to April 7) due to a left pectoral strain.
Right-handed starting pitcher Bryce Miller has been shut down since spring training due to a left oblique strain. He was placed on the 15-day injured list to begin the season with that ailment.
Before the final of a four-game series against the Houston Astros on Monday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, M's manager Dan Wilson was able to provide an update on both players.
Robles, who missed most of last season dealing with a dislocation left shoulder with a fracture, currently does not have a timetable to be activated off the IL. He's been with the team at home during its current series against Houston.
"Because it's his throwing arm, it's something you have to be careful with," Wilson said in a pregame interview Monday. "Taking it slowly as it should. I don't know how definite the timeline is at this point, it's just a matter of how he's going to respond. But he's continuing to do what he can."
As for Miller, he looks like he's getting closer to making his season debut.
"(Miller) had a bullpen (Sunday)," Wilson said. "It went very, very well. Now he'll get some more work in while we're in San Diego and, hopefully, at some point in the next homestand will probably be up here. We'll assess from there."
Robles' latest injury is the latest of what has been a series of them for the dynamic outfielder. In addition to his left shoulder fracture/dislocation that cost him most of 2025, he also was nursing a light shoulder injury in spring training that forced him to miss multiple Cactus League games.

Robles has slashed .231/.231/.308 with a .549 OPS in 13 plate appearances this season. The M's brought up infielder Connor Joe to fill his spot on the roster.
Miller has also been dealing with injuries over the last two years. He was limited to just 18 starts in 2025 due to two stints on the IL with right elbow inflammation. He posted a 5.68 ERA that season before raising his game in the playoffs.
During Seattle's run to the American League Championship Series, Miller posted a 2.51 ERA and struck out nine batters in 14.1 innings pitched across three starts.
