The Seattle Seahawks captured the 2025 Super Bowl on Sunday night, beating the New England Patriots 29-13 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
For the Seahawks, it's the second Super Bowl title in four appearances and the first title since the 2013 campaign.
The victory caps off a banner year for Seattle sports fans who saw the Seattle Mariners win the American League West and advance to the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2001.
Frankly, it was an unprecedented year for Seattle fans, and one that we have never seen in our lifetimes.
And there's plenty of optimism for the next calendar year as well, as the Mariners figure to be good in 2026 and the Seahawks still look as if they'll be excellent moving forward.
But before the M's start their 2026 quest at spring training later this week, they made sure to get together in Santa Clara to watch the Super Bowl together - an awesome sign of city wide unity.
As noted on social media, Josh Naylor, Cal Raleigh, Bryan Woo and George Kirby all attended the Super Bowl festivities together.
Sure, it's corny for us to love this, but it's also fun. These guys are paid to play in the city, not serve as city-wide ambassadors, but that's what they did. Knowing that your players are as invested in your city as you are? That's a powerful thing for fans.
Again, they'll report to spring training later this week and then they'll be off and running. After re-signing Naylor and acquiring both Jose Ferrer and Brendan Donovan, the M's are one of the limited favorites for the American League pennant. If the pitching staff can return to 2024 form then the sky is the limit, especially in a winnable American League West.
Mariners Roundtable will have a two-week presence in Peoria, Ariz., so we'll have all you need to know as the M's season gets going. First up? I'll be there from Feb. 18-23 bringing you coverage from the first four games of the Cactus League season.
And as always, the 'Refuse to Lose' podcast will come out three times a week: typically Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
The Thursday episodes are the exclusive home of our weekly interview with ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney.
