The Mariners made some moves at the minor league level on Monday.
As the Seattle Mariners continue to scuffle big time at the major league level, things continue to be exciting down on the farm.
And on Monday's minor league off day, the Mariners shuffled the deck for some of their top prospects, promoting left-handed pitcher Mason Peters to the High-A Everett AquaSox and outfielder Yorger Bautista to the Single-A Inland Empire 66ers.

Here's what you need to know about the duo, who are putting up excellent seasons here in 2026.
About Peters
Listed as the No. 13 prospect in the organization by MLB Pipeline, Peters has put together a phenomenal season at Inland Empire. Now 22 years old, he was a fourth-round pick of the Mariners in 2025 from Dallas Baptist.
Though his workload has throttled back in his first professional season, he's been one of the brightest spots of the entire season for the M's organization, going 1-0 with a 1.43 ERA in 14 games. In 50.1 innings, he's struck out 68 hitters and pitched to a .175 opponents batting average. He has just 12 walks.
While much of the attention on this minor league season has been on Ryan Sloan and Kade Anderson, Peters has certainly turned heads.
About Bautista
Ranked as the No. 9 prospect in the organization, he was signed in 2025 by the M's out of Venezuela. Still just 18 years old, he hit .283 for the Arizona Complex League Mariners in 60 games. He's also got a .345 on-base percentage, nine home runs, 47 RBIs and nine stolen bases.
Though he's years away from the big leagues, there is hope that he could matriculate to the level in the next few years, perhaps even in his age 21 or 22 season. If that were the case, he'd be on the same track as Julio Rodriguez, which is an excellent comparison to shoot for.
Elsewhere in the news for the M's
The Mariners enter play on Tuesday at 56-63 and in third place in the American League West. Seattle has three critical games at the New York Yankees before a massive divisional showdown with the Houston Astros in Houston.
Seattle is currently four games behind the Astros in the division with five more games against them to play. That series will be one of the last chances for the M's to salvage their season, if it's capable of being salvaged.
